Which exhaust baby?

My car has headers and soon will have a test pipe. All I need is a good catback.

I don't care if it sounds rice, or if it has a big can. I just want one thats loud, sounds powerful and doesn't hang too low, since I may be lowering my car about 1.5 inches in the future.

My car is type SH, and I know alot of exhausts for they make for the base they do not make for the SH. The only one I know they make for the SH is the Apexi N1 and a Skunk2 one. So keep that in mind too.

Re: Which exhaust baby?

You don't want my cat lol. It will pass inspection and doesn't throw a CEL (which is why I'll prolly keep it) but some of the catalyst broke off inside of it so it rattles. Its really annoying.

Re: Which exhaust baby?

greddy Ti-c its a 2.5 in straight pipe all the way to the can on the back. and still sounds pretty decent. personally i have it and added a resonator and love how it sounds now.

Well I would prefer 2.25 inch piping but I think my collector is 2.5 and I think my test pipe is 2.5...soo....

just sayin, but the point of adding a exhaust a cat back generally is to free up the flow, ie add in a little bit or power. but having a 2.5in collector and test pipe, to a 2.25 is just choking up the engine. i mean as is everything past the collector is considered a restriction but still.

question for ya, why'd you add a test pipe? those things are terrible

Re: Which exhaust baby?

Obviously not.

What I said was...

"I would prefer 2.25 inch piping...

but...

I believe my collector and test pipe are 2.5....

soo..."

Which means..."I would like the whole thing to be 2.25 but since I think the collector and test pipe are 2.5 it wouldn't make much sense to get a 2.25 catback."

However, I don't know what sizes they are, I'm just guessing.

Re: Which exhaust baby?

IO have apexi dunk and i love it. Not really loud when idling or just cruisin but if u get on it it screams. My buddy had buddy club on his EK hatch tho and it was prolly one of the loudest exhausts ive heard on an import lol. Sounded good but was crazy loud

Apexi WS2 FTW!!!.. and if you plan on doing a test pipe make sure you do a spark plug defouler so your car passes inspection and doesnt throw a CEL.

Re: Which exhaust baby?

I know this thread is old (btw what exhaust did you go with? ) And check this out, I custom built the entire cat-back myself, its 2.5" piping with a resonator, hollowed cat (no CEL), all the way back to the muffler that I had nbuilt, its all hand made and welded by me, so please give your opinions

Not bad, you'd be better off with a hi flow cat though, probably would lose that slight rasp in the top. plus having a hollowed cat is proven to actually cause you to lose power..

I agree, get a free flow cat.

It'll cut back on some rasp and reduce the smoke.

Straighten your muffler.... you're not in a 240 or subaru...

Also good for passing CA smog testing if the "need" for an aftermarket exhaust is "necessary" on someone's car lol

but no power to be had, and it's too quite...and overpriced
