X2, happened in my accord. Not sure if its the same but if it is its basically just a small little plastic spacer. Anyways should be able to visually check to see if its broken. I'm not too sure about our ludes (and if it weren't raining and midnight I'd go check but meeh) but it should be located just behind the brake pedal. Basically go stick your head under there and if you see something broken fix it. Should only cost some pocket change to get it replaced, IF that is indeed your issue...

the last "brake (or break) light stays on" thread

Indeed there is, although that thread is devoted to the light on the dash. Of which he said is not his issue...=/

Re: brake light help

Possible yes. The problem with brake light circuits is that there is usually a lot of other stuff totally unrelated to the brakes on the same circuit. If so much as a marker bulb is shorted out, it could cause weird braking problems, lights going on and off, etc.

Best bet would be to get a wiring diagram of that circuit and try to trace the problem.
