tanny cooler/ supercharger

alright so i have a 97 prelude and im wanting to add a tranny cooler to my auto transmission to help it out and my boy has one on his prelude and a supercharger on it as well and it runs fine with no problems. now i know its hard to beileve it but im just trying to get some feed back on whether i should do this as well or no. and no im not swaping to a manual because one i already have the SC and the tranny cooler but im wondering if i should slap them on or get rid of them.

Re: tanny cooler/ supercharger

Sure, might as well use a tranny cooler to push the inevitable death of your slushbox a little further down the road...but don't waste your time putting a supercharger on your auto Lude.

Re: tanny cooler/ supercharger

Most poeple have a hard enough time keeping the 5th gen auto trans alive with stock engines. Though I must admit, supercharging the Prelude would be the most fun way to destroy the box.

Good call!

And yes the 5th gen auto tranny is a disaster.... I got one not long ago with low km's (BB6 SIR, auto) and had a really nice feel to it but once you start abusing the throttle gearbox problems creep up! Tranny oil change helped but shifting from 1st to 2nd became noticeable (tranny vibration), so I moved on.... Lucky I still have my 4th gen, it never fails.lol

Therefore you are better off trying to find a manual conversion or just taking it easy with the stock setup.
