This sounds like the dreaded shock knock. I don't remember where, but there was something on here a while ago.

oh. my car did the same thing, but after i hit a pot hole. i had just got my springs and i hit a biggun on the way to eat. it went away after a i did this for a while. jack your car up and check the rubber piece at the top of your spring and make sure its aligned. if so extend your shocks all the way and then put them back on. thats what i did. (like take them off and let them chill for a min.

so this mean i have to remove the shock absorber? If so i should change the bushing at the same time.

im not sure if its the right one.

Re: rear shockabsorber clunking noise

tighten the bolts on the top (in the trunk) on the rear passenger shock. mine does this all the time.

Re: rear shockabsorber clunking noise

Try searching on "The cure to shock knock write up with pics"
I completed the TSR that describes replacing the shock collars but did not help.
Under the back seat is a platform bar. The bolts are probably loose.
The article shows how to remove the bolts and use loctite to reinstall the bolts.
This fix all my knock problems.
