I need a little help.... lowering my lude.

I ordered a set of 2 1/2 lowering springs. Is that ok for wheels and tires. 18.7.5 ~ 225/35/18

Re: I need a little help.... lowering my lude.

sounds like its gonna rub lol..

i got tokico blues and eibach sportlines which lowered f 1.7/r 1.5 but it seems more like a 2 inch drop for me ( its like a 2 finger gap maybe 1.5)

i was using 215/45/17 and my front wheels rubbed when i turn the wheel. Also every bump i hit, the rear tires rubbed the fender. i didnt bother rolling the fenders etc, it may of fixxed the situation but idk, it was REALLY bad when i had 2 or 3 people in the car.

i got new tires 215/40/17 and everything is gravy now. no more rubbing front or back!

your rims are 18's and your drop is more than mine and your tires are also wider.. might be bad.

ps. your rim's offset matters too, my offsets are like +40 or something so it sits out ALMOST lining up with the fender, instead of sittin deeper inside the wheel well.

Re: I need a little help.... lowering my lude.

you might want to get some new shocks too
because oem shocks will blow the piston will bottom out
i heard of a way to mod the stock ones by treading down the shaft a 1" 1/2 where
the self locking nut goes to give the piston more room to move but you will have to cut the excess of to close your hood

Recommended Tire size & Offsets!

That should answer a little bit. But I think your gonna be rubbing with 2+ inches of drop and 18's. If your going with 2.5 inch lowering springs, I would go with 16" rims, moderate offset. I think that your gonna need more of an offset than 42mm prob someone around the 45-50 range

Yeah dude you are gonna rub for sure. I have a 2.5" in drop (front/rear) and when I have my 17x7's on, I rub on hard turns and moderate bumps.

Re: I need a little help.... lowering my lude.

everyone is right. its over bro. i got a 2 inch drop with stock SH's and my outer tire (front) rubs my fender ever so slightly to where my tire is looking ugly. imo. either get smaller rims or do like a 1.5

Ok, no more 502's with +42 offset and 2 1/2 drop... Now I got 2 inch drop Megan springs. I'm going with 17X7 +40 0ffsef wheels and 205/40/17 tires. It should work....

Cool, I will as soon as it is done. It's at: R&P AUTO BODY PAINT AND GRAPHICS . It' s gonna be canary yellow pearl, jdm black projectors, clear side markers, AEM intake,Accel ignition, Magnaflow exhaust. Nothing special but I'm working on it now instead of my Lexus...

Re: I need a little help.... lowering my lude.

Oh yeah, I forgot to add that I always wanted a lude. Actually I was after the h22, but one day I was browsing craigslist and came across a 99... Without saying, I sold my nice ass 01 maxima with dubs and all for dirt cheap just to get the lude. I got it and spun a bearing in that junk usdm h22a4. I was a driver at jimmy johns so I had to work inshop to keep my job, plus in school for real estate. sux... I ordered a 95 h22a from japan and swaped. That was June 08. I bent the clutch fork somehow months later and it sat in garage until a month ago and decided to get back on it....

Yea my buddy has a 2-2.5 inch lowering coil overs from tein and he rubs alot. Also, if you have an aftermarket exhaust with a large can, like apexi, it will scrape...alot.

Re: I need a little help.... lowering my lude.

His problem of scraping got so bad he can't have more than himself and one other person in the car, else it scrapes everywhere. Plus speedbumps become a feared enemy, as do bumpy roads, potholes, or anything but perfectly smooth surfaces.

However it has lead to a rear window sticker that reads "no fat chicks - car will scrape." Which makes my day.

I think that's what mine are. By the way in the STANCE section of the forum there is a guide for tire offsets and rim sizes and if you scroll down you can see which tire sizes/offsets will give you trouble when lowering.
