NEED ADVICE on 17x7.5 with a +35mm offset with a 1.5 inch drop??

hey everyone. Been getting a lot of great feedback about which wheels to get next since I am selling my RSX type s wheels. I am really interested in these rota grids that are 17x7.5 with a +35mm offset. I know the allowed offset is a minimum of +38 for a 8" wide wheel, so......with a 7.5 and a +35mm offset, will I be able to mount it with a 1.5 inch drop in the rear and 1.8 up front without rubbing against the control arm? here are the wheels I am interested in! thanks in advance for the advice guys!

What size tyres are you planning on running? They're what will effect rubbing when we're talking about a difference of 9mm across the entire wheel..

Re: NEED ADVICE on 17x7.5 with a +35mm offset with a 1.5 inch drop??

+35 will be cutting it close especially with 215/45r17s

Recommended Tire size & Offsets!

In that thread is says anything less than a +40 on a 7.5" wheel is not reccomended but I did some math a while back and think +38 would be perfect on a 7.5" wheel. So, I think +35 is pushing it unless you run a 205/45 or maybea 205/50.

Thats what I am thinking too. I already have a set of 215/45/17s and I cant afford any more tires right now since I just put 5k in the car I guess I may have to just get the +45

Re: NEED ADVICE on 17x7.5 with a +35mm offset with a 1.5 inch drop??

You'll need to run 215/40's for them to work. My rims have a +32 offset all around and a 1.7" drop in the front 1.5" in the rear and there's no rubbing. When the original 215/45's were on there however, the car was barely drivable it rubbed so bad.

You could get ahold of rota and see if they will make you a set at +40. It will take a few months but it would be worth the wait.

No, they shouldn't charge you more than they typically cost. Maybe 100 buck difference. I know a few people that have special ordered sets from them... Remember it's Rota not Work. Lol

I trust rota I have only seen like 2 sets crack and they were old as hell and constanly put on the track. I trust them for something as simple as daily driving and spirited driving. Heck everyone uses them on their auto x cars in the south east area.

No prob man.

The interwebz just full of fools. Of course if I had the money I would buy volks or works but hell some of us don't get rich mommy and daddy money like most of these kids do now. There is nothing wrong with rota wheels.
