You live in SoCal? If you want a tune go to Bisi.

Re: DOne with bolt ons!

are you supercharged or not? im assuming no, you should go with a s2k throttle body, skunk2 intake manifold, adjustable cam gears, and then get it tuned

Bisi Ezerioha (sp?). www.bisimoto.com should have all the info you need.

You might want to look into the Euro-R Intake manifold (***Rosko Racing***) or even the K-series intake manifold and the K2H adapter plate that QSD makes as well. I've heard pros and cons (mostly cons) about the Skunk2 intake manifold. Just do your research and you'll be fine.

Re: DOne with bolt ons!

Losing EGR isn't a con (unless you live in CA or some ****). From what I have seen on the Skunk2 mani, people are only getting good gains on FI applications. The OP sounds like he is (and plans on staying) NA. All the charts show peak HP gains over the Euro-R/modified stock IM, but not by much, and they're all sacrificing HP and TQ over the rest of the curve. I'll take 1whp over the curve over 3hp at the top end any day. Just my .02 cents.

I disagree. Cams before pistons IMO.

A tune? I don't know I guess you could pull a couple horsies out from somewhere but I would do the valvetrain, get a vtec controller do some cam pulleys, maybe an underdrive pulley but the power steering and alternator save your money. Tuning is so exspensive so, get the stuff you really want first then get it tuned. Otherwise in the long run your just wasting money.

Because engines are basically giant air pumps, right? Well, wilder cams allow your engine to pump in/out more air, pistons don't.

yes it will need a tune then, but it sounded like he wanted to tune first. But after all that work he will be much happier with the results from that tune than just adding maybe 4 hp with just a plain tune pretty much stock.

not sure about cars but I know on the motorcycles I have seen people paying more than $400 for a tune. I remember Daytona Bike week 2004 on the 04 Yamaha R1 with the full graves exhaust and power commander III I think it was for Graves tune on the R1 was like $400 or more.

this thread is full of soooo much fail. people who can't speak correctly, misinformed people giving out their misinformed opinions, which confuses noobs who don't know anybetter. bottom line do your research then come and ask us questions that cant be easily found by a simple search, remember google is also your friend.
