Tighten Belt

My son's Prelude is squealing...especially when he turns on the AC. how do I adjust tension on the belt?

the A/C and alternator share the same belt.
first you gotta loosen the 14mm bolt that the alternator pivots around on the top.
then you gotta tighten the tensioning bolt, 10mm, on the bottom of the alternator. be careful tho, there's 2 10mm bolts next to each other. one simply holds the tensioner down to the alt bracket, and the other one you can see/feel the tensioner bolt behind it.
its prolly gonna be pretty hard to turn this one cuz the threads will most likely be really rusty.


then tighten both bolts.

Like he said loosen the 14mm bolt but first WD40!!:)



That will help you not strip the fuk out of that bolt like i did... Here is the bolt you need to first loosen(the 14mm one)



After that you should also spray this bolt to help it turn better. But all you have to do is either tighten or loosen this bolt depending on what you want to do and it will either tighten or loosen the belt:)
