white smoke ( i know their have been posts about this)

I know there have been post about white smoke but I haven't seen ones with people saying they'd gotten rid of it and how?

when i hit v-tec white smoke comes out my exhaust i've had a compression test all 4 are within 190 psi my dip stick shows know water beads or milkyness but my oil is quite low (but tbh I was lazy and had never checked the oil before so i don't know if its dropped or whatever) so today im gonna head out and do an oil change and change the filter too(not that i know if this has anything to do with the white smoke) and the radiator is definately not loosing any water or anything that is topped up also in the reserve too.

the car is 207,000k's so fairly high I am looking at rebuilding later but just wondering if this white smoke is a serious issue right now?

probably blue like nick says. you're using oil as our cars do. check that oil level every 1000 miles

Re: white smoke ( i know their have been posts about this)

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe white smoke is water or radiator fluid, blue smoke means oil burning and black smoke means running rich I'm pretty sure of. If you let it idle for a moment and then press on the gas will blue smoke puff out? Have a buddy help you and see if it does. If so then most likely bad piston rings or bad valves. What motor do you have?

Re: white smoke ( i know their have been posts about this)

white smoke= coolant

blue smoke= oil

possibly a headgasket but then u would get milky residue..compression seems a bit low as well idk what motor you have but my h22 is between 230 and 235 on all cylinders. and if i were u depending on the white smoke, continuously check your coolant level in your radiator depending on how much white smoke u see coming outta your exhaust..just because there isnt coolant on the ground doesnt mean its not burning somewhere inside the motor and that seems like the case.

black smoke doesnt always mean running rich, it could be carbon build up as well

Re: white smoke ( i know their have been posts about this)

maybe i just have a higher compression idk, but thats what the compression test told me between 230 to 235 on each cylinder, and even a brand new motor from the factory the compression wont be the same on all cylinders. Your motor is slightly different. I would try and do more research but keep and eye on your coolant levels.

Anyone here have type-S pistons? If so what kind of numbers are you getting for compression tests?
