H23A Swap Help

Hey guys, I recently bought a jdm h23a to swap for my hydrolocked h22a4. My mechanic is having a problem with my swap. The motor is in, but it will not start. He says it has to do with the crank sensor because he cannot bypass it. The car is obd2. The oil pump from my H22a4 was not switched over, do you think that could be the problem? I am hoping not because that will add another 5 hours of labor which I don't want. All help is needed and very appreciated!

Are you refering to the h23a vtec engine or the non vtec engine?

Yea thanks I'll need it. I am never going to a base mechanic for a jdm swap ever again unless he has personally done the swap before. The labor is going to rape me in very bad ways.....

Lol, yea you can push the 600lb motor up the hill. But seriously if the oil pump does not solve the problem, I am getting it towed to M&B racing and calling it a day. My cost is going to be like 1.8k or more..... I know who to ask next time

FUK MB RACING, THEY'RE DICKSSS!!!!!!!!!!!
they told me my downpipe would cost $250 and take 2-3 hours to make.
$550 and 8 hours later, i did not leave there happy



dude don't do the oil pump unless you have to. wiring it to the dizzy will be alottttttt easier and faster.

My mech is about to do the oil pump, according to him the wiring is a pain in the ass...unless you wanna come down and do it lols.

Edit: I am having him hold off on the oil pump.

well this is just getting humorous at this point....

we can't use the dizzy that came w/ the motor cuz it doesn't have the CKP or TDC sensors in it, and this motor doesn't have them on the oil pump either. (pretty sure the engine importer shipped it w/ the wrong dizzy )
we can't use the dizzy that came off the old H22a4 cuz its an internal coil.
we can't use the brand new dizzy that his mechanic ordered and came in today cuz it wasn't even close to lining up. this one was for an OBD1 H22, btw.

sooooo, we're gonna try to find an OBD1 H23 dizzy, external coil, which SHOULDDDDDDDDDDDD fit!!!!
