Valve cover painted and headwork done

I painted my valve cover this weekend following the diy on this forum. It turned put pretty well despite the fact that I suck at anything related to art. One thing the diy author forgot to add is the aircraft remover burns like sh!t

here's a pic:

and a pic of the intake and heat shield which I also painted:

also I got my head back from the machine shop all squeaky clean. I got it cleaned and got the valves lapped. The head gasket and seals kit should be in tomorrow.

Wow it turned out really good man. Im loving that valve color. For some reason I like seeing white valve covers? But it all looks good. Nice job

Thanks dudeskis. Haha yeah I thought about keepin it clean being a pita. I figured as long as I don't let it build up a rag and cleaner should do pretty good. I'll find out tho I guess

That should be a given. If that stuff starts flaking paint as soon as it touches it. Common sence should say

"Hey if you get this s#it on your skin it's going to burn like a mother!"

Re: Valve cover painted and headwork done

I am about to paint mine again. Changing my whole under hood theme. Ha hah a, na its just my red calipers aren't meshing with my blue valve cover. Plus orange socks.

Anyhow I need to update my car pics.

I was a professional metal refinisher for two years. Acetone will immediately stop the burning. It essentially deactivates the stripper and will no longer allow it to burn. Nail polish remover has acetone in it. FYI. Oh, and use chem gloves. Latex, nitril, etc. are no good.
