things to make it go faster... basic thing intake header and exhaust.. those in lamens terms> intake= get rid of that black box with the plastic pipe going to it under the hood and replace it with a shiney one with a cool looking cone thing on the end... Header= take off the thing that under the caution hot plate and put one on that says RMF or SMSP... Exhaust= the long pipe that runs under the car that starts in the front and comes out in the back that the steam comes out of in the wintertime.... take that one off and put a different one on, bigger is always bettter

what are u willing to spend.. then we can get more specific on what u wanna get.. a good intake will be from 2-300, those rmf/smsp headers go from 800-1000+ and a good exhaust can range from like 400-600+.. based on these prices tell us what u think

common problems:
-preludes tend to burn a bit more oil than normal hondas
-the automatic/tiptronic transmissions are absolute crap in the newer ones (97-01)
-if your looking to make alot more power than stock (aka, more than like 250hp) look at getting a base model. the SH models transmissions tend to complicate things with its ATTS system (active torque transfer system)

all i can think of right now

Well first thing as far as performance I reccomend is OBD1 conversion that way any mods you put on it will benifit the car and the computer won't detune it back to stock settings.

its where you take an ecu from a honda, usually a civic, from before 1996 and get it chipped, a new chip just like a computer chip, put in the ecu that has all the information for ur car on it. the reason for doing this is because it uses a different wiring setup that works with aftermarket engine management units and also it takes to mods a lot better then obd II computers

Or you can get a conversion harness. OBD1 was from 1990 to 1995.

If you decide you want a Fully Built Turbo Prelude instead of going stock, I have a really great deal on one. 30K original miles. Let me know if this is something you would be interested in.

what price range??

ugh. i am so depressed, yesterday went to look at a BEAUTIFUL white 00 lude and when i talked to my mom about it and she was all not into it.. she was giving me all these excuses about credit and ****, plus i need about 2000$ downpayment and im only going to get about 1000 for my car, so now i have to wait about 3 months to save up enough money i am so dissappointed i have a POS 95 ford probe right now and i cant wait to get a prelude, i used to think they looked best in black, and now that ive seen a white one up close that is what i want.

sorry just venting
