led dome light conversion

Ok, so I'm thinking about putting red leds on the middle light, where the door opens and the light opens, and white lights on the other two. I'm wondering if i just pop open the cover and twist the bulbs out and twist the leds in , or is it much complicated then that?

Also, what size or type of leds do our dome lights? is it t10 or something like that?

Re: led dome light conversion

Yea bro, just pop out the cover then they are straight pull outs.

The bulbs are #194s if you're going led.

I got mine from these guys:
194 168 W5W 2825 Map Led Parking Signal Marker Bulbs
I got the 2nd led down on that page, the 9led matrix.

Only advice I have is to be SUPER careful prying out the clear plastic light diffuser in the dome light. The surrounding plastic is really soft. Just use a towel over a fairly small flat head screwdriver and you should be good.

I did all white:

Took me less than 5 mins to do. Although getting the stockers out can be a pita, plyers are advised.( just dont squeeze too hard or you'll break the bulb...

Re: led dome light conversion

The LEDs you want to get are the 194
It is the same if you want to replace
the parking lights in the headlights as well.

I have done all 3 dome lights, and the parking
lights on mine. Took all of about 10 minutes
to swap out all five LEDs

Re: led dome light conversion

I have done the dome lights. But not the parking lights. The domes weren't as bright as I would have liked. Does anyone have some pics of the parking lights installed?

Re: led dome light conversion

Looks sweet blackferrari. Thanks for posting the pics. I have already done the dome lights. I want to do ALL the rest of the lights on the Interior, parking lights and side markers on the outside. I'd rather not have my license plate well lit. Hehe. From what I have read the cruise control button needs 2 bulbs, 1 or 2 (?) for the sunroof, 1 for the dimmer, 1 for the auto down window button, and quite a few for the gage cluster, a/c, ashtray, AUTO console etc. I think the domes were 194 or was it 168? Which bulbs would I need guys to do all the interior? Link me if you all know if it is listed elsewhere. I have searched and found quite different looking bulbs from a multiple choice of sites and am quite confused as to which ones and where to buy.

Re: led dome light conversion

For the dome, parking, license, and side marker light, the bulb size is 194 (168 and 194 is the same).
And I remember there is a link with instruction to convert the light for the A/C, auto, sunroof button...etc. Do a little hunt in the forum and u will see it.
