new motor help

ok so i bought my new motor today and its a 96 jdm h22 vtec its a obd1. The guy told me to just take the stuff off my old motor and put it on it, and it should work. i got a 97 h22 vtec in it now. is he right or did they screw me over.

He screwed you over, not all the stuff from your H22A4 will work on your H22A1, certain things work on the ODBII system and not the OBD I, if I were you I would read up on the motor swap DIYs and look and see what items you will need to buy and replace. I know the first thing will be your ECU or (CPU)

I agree, I know that you usually have convert over the oil pump and crank sensors when using a JDM motor.

you'll be fine, there are somethings that are different but nothing major that will stop you from install. what all is coming with the new motor?

where did you order it from? it might be a good idea to pull the head off of the block just to check everything out and make sure it looks good and replace headgasket, i would also replace the tbelt and water pump while ur in there just for good measure bc u really dont know how many miles is on the motor.

yea so place off ebay there located in VA. i dont know how to do timeing and yea i got a full gasket kit order for it.

its not hard at all, as long as you can follow instructions and match your motor up with pictures you're good to go.

i got my motor today finally now it says i have to change my oil pan over but mines cracked do i need a new one? and what is intermediate shaft (halfshaft) - the one that bolts to the block
