Re: stock eclipse exhaust

if it was free, and would half way decently bolt up for sound check i would try it. and then if you like it, have it installed. it never hurts to try somethin, its not like puttin a (cough)mitsu(cough) muffler on a good car is goin to hurt the car, haha

Re: stock eclipse exhaust

Holy crap that G35 exhaust actually sounds BA on that probe. Did they make Probes in V-6 or were they all 4cyl's? My friend has a 2.0 and I know the GT is a 2.5 but is that a V-6? I just ask because the older Dodge Avengers and some other vehicles have the 2.5 6cyl's in them.

Depending on the answer to this, if it turns out the Probe has a 4cyl and is achieving that exhaust note, hell yeah slap that muffler from the Eclipse on!

What year Eclipse, btw? Like a '98 chick version or the newer model still pretty chick style? Cuz if it's a muffler from an older 4cyl Eclipse, I would say don't bother.

I put it on today and it sounds pretty good, good deep tone not real loud but still soundss good. its off a newer body style eclipse. It has like a 3 inch outlet so i think thats what gives it the deep tone

Re: stock eclipse exhaust

Do not get headers for sound. I have headers on my car and a stock exhaust. It still sounds stock.

Headers won't do jack to make it sound better, or louder. They're performance pieces. Save your money and get a good set of headers. Not DC or eBay.

Re: stock eclipse exhaust

you think i would realy notice any gains? i have stock exhaust tuneing and high flow cat and the stock eclipse exhaust, i think the muffler has pretty good flow, i was looking down inside of the muffler outlet and it looks like a straight through design with a couple of turns in it and it has a 3 inch outlet. as opposed to the chambered exhaust that comes on our cars stock. Im trying to have a quiet exhaust with decent flow.

eclipse=junk. Therefore, eclipse exhaust=junk. I will say the same: Please don't.
