That is encouraging to know some places charge 650. I want to get this motor rather than build a stock h22 motor

yes but your not taking into acct the longer stroke,as in the difference in power band.

Re: Euro R motor swap

Where does the H23 come in? The Euro-R had an H22. H23A VTEC was in the AWD wagon.

Euro-R got P5P (Type S) pistons with a PDE head. Also got the improved IM and electric power steering. Also comes with an LSD trans. The Type R also got PDE pistons and rods.

i got a quote for 2k for that swap into my 4th gen w usdm tranny, but i think im mite save for lsd .

its supposed to have more torque then the h22 but the h22 is better at high revs

Re: Euro R motor swap

Regular SiR got the F20B DOHC VTEC, which as a point of interest has a shorter stroke than the H22. Far as I know the H23A VTEC only came in the SiR AWD wagon, also only available in auto, although of course you can use an F/H series (not including S2000) manual transmission with it.

The F20B would probably make for an interesting turbo build.

yes it is and if your prelude is vtec in any way, you dont need to change jack ****, just drop it in

if not the only loom you need to change is the engine bay,
you could get a harness for the ecu and save yourself a lot of ****

Re: Euro R motor swap

I wouldnt be gettin this motor until after summer so in the mean time i was thinking about doing seafoam. I have a cel that read random cylinder misfire and all cylinder misfire , shop said that the intake needed to be boiled( as some of you know aha) but would this be a good idea to maybe unclog the intake and ill just clean the egr myself ? if it doesnt work im just gonna take the IM off and clean it myself as best i can and hope that solves the problem...

Re: Euro R motor swap

Never hurts to try. If it doesnt work get it hot tanked. I cleaned my EGR with a can of brake cleaner and two picks. Solved my misfire issues.

Edit: That shop must use gold plated bolts or something. The local shop here will do a same motor swap for 500-650 with a 1-2 day turnaround. Greed is never good.

Thanks for all the help guys I am sooo glad I joined this site. There is like a pride I have to driving this car, even though people have done more or have crazy A** setups (that I envy, but will HAVE!) I still love the car how it is and it can only get better. My parents want me to get somethin new just because this one little problem but i am determined to keep it. Long live my prelude...
