Where can I find a pair of SMOKED WeatherTech rain guards?

I really like the way the WeatherTech brand wind/rain side window deflectors fit inside the window channel and give a nice clean look. They use absolutely NO double sided tape to stick to the side of my door frame. The problem I am having is that I cant find a pair of the smoked ones. I dont know if they stopped making them or never did make them, because the only ones I could find are the light tinted ones. I want the dark tinted ones. I dont get it because they have the dark ones for other makes and models, but not for preludes?? If any one knows where I can get a set of weathertech dark tinted ones, please let me know. Thanks

Re: Where can I find a pair of SMOKED WeatherTech rain guards?

I did a fairly good search of ebay, and weathertech sells their stuff there. I'm Actually really interested. Email them mofos and ask them. If they have em they have 2 sales potentially. I've been wanting some deflectors, but wasn't about to pay out the ass for the "Jdm wind visors" that sell for stupid amounts of money on the boards...Anyways, yea email them and let em know what they say...Or I'll email em myself But to confirm, all I saw was light tint on their site, on ebay they didn't even have any listed for the lude...

Edit: after googling, I can;t find ANY 3rd party sites that offer anything but the light tint...I'm definitely in for contacting them to see whats up. Worst case scenario, buy some light ones and VHT them b*tches.

Re: Where can I find a pair of SMOKED WeatherTech rain guards?

So I just got off the phone with WeatherTech and as it turns out.... They do not make rain guards in the tinted color for preludes and never did. THIS BLOWS!!! I asked why and they said something about because of popularity of that make and model they found that more people wanted the clear ones for what ever reason and never made the smoked ones. Hey Lazer, what do you mean by getting the clear ones and "VHT" them?

Use some VHT nightshades. Same stuff people use to smoke their taillights, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

I may pick up a set of these in the coming months, thanks for callin them lol!

sorry but you have been terribly misinformed.

the JDM's do not use tape and they bolt into holes that are pretapped into the window tracking therefore giving you a better more sturdy mount then the ones that just slide in the tracks. i spent $200 on my JDM door visors and they are prolly my favorite mod to my car. by looking at the pics of the weathertech ones i can guaruntee you that the JDM's flare out more and look alot more like they're supposed to be there.

Exactly. That's why I've been saving for the JDM ones. I feel like any aftermarket rain guards would look out of place.

You said yourself that the oem ones FLARE out MORE and that is exactly what I DON'T like about the factory ones. They look like big fat bubbles sticking off your car and I just don't like it at all (and deff not for $200) The WeatherTech ones have a much sleeker profile and looks perfect imo.. and they fit great and don't fall off and dont stick/screw on. 10 sec installation per side.

I deff wanna see these pics. I was thinking, If you smoke them from the back side only....you will still have the nice smooth factory finish on the out side. If yours come out good, I'm prob gonna do the same thing because I have not got a reposnce to the email I wrote weathertech inquiring about a group buy.

$62 here, pretty good deal. I'd like to see smoked ones, this website though says "also available in Dark" but has no option to click dark or anything

The reason they flare out more is so that you can crack your window open more than just a half an inch and you get more airflow into the car. Function > Form. I would be surprised if those "sleeker" ones, as you put it, will even flow half as much air into the car as the JDM's.

Well for me personally i'd like LESS airflow when the windows are cracked only an inch or so. The only reason i'd roll windows down in the rain would be because I smoke, so i can ash out the window and not get water in the car. more airflow == ash blown into car
