Irregular neutral idle due to timing?

So awhile ago I had an idle problem. It was revving in neutral, way way annoying . It only happened in the winter when it was cold. Got my timing belt replaced and WA LA, doesnt happen anymore. Comments? Anyone had a similar thing happen? (to make this thread useful the least bit, it could help someone to know that maybe their timing is off =))

Re: Irregular neutral idle due to timing?

I have a 98 Prelude with a similar issue. When engine cold, it revs up to 2500 and back down to 1000 for about 5 minutes before the engine warms up. I've checked the TPS so that is not the issue and my timing belt is relatively new (maybe 40K on it). Ruled out cooling systems as well. Anyone have any ideas? It's the silliest thing to hear when you're first taking a girl out for a date. Super annoying!!!
