Icon5 The green key light flashes

I have noticed that while driving especially on bumpy or curvy roads the green key light that is above the ATTS light comes on randomly...wasn't sure if this meant anything or not just making sure something isn't about to break or something

Re: The green key light flashes

I honestly wouldnt worry about it, that light is only supposed to come on when you take your key outta the ignition but its prob somethin faulty thats not worth worryin about unless your car dies.

Re: The green key light flashes

so i searched on here about the immobilizer and was wondering if maybe my remote start has something to do with it or if it has been bypassed in order for the remote start to work if so i wouldnt have to worry about it then..

But if you read his post he's saying it flashes while driving. No concern about it flashing when you pull the key out. It flashing after the key is removed is nmormal for all of us. But to determine why it flashes while driving is the main issue discussed in this thread!!!

IMO I would get it checked out bc it might mean that your immobilizer might be wearing down.

I too have a remote start/alarm and I havent had that issue!!! *knock on wood

But yea...it's prob a warning or something of taht sort to let you know it needs to be checked out or changed!!!

Re: The green key light flashes

probably it has something to do with your remote start bypass module.

I am trying to install a Clifford 50.7x remote start on my 5th gen 5 speed. Do I need the immobilizer bypass?

I don't have a remote start....and I don't have that problem...might be a pattern here.

Re: The green key light flashes

Immobilizer system. Prolly not accepting the key.

Oh, and you don't need to hijack a year old thread...

...just make a new one.

Re: The green key light flashes

It has more to do with an incorrect remote start install. I work for an audio/video/alarm shop did one on my car and the factory bypass module was faulty and caused the green light to flash whenever I used the remote start. Has to do with the remote start for sure.
