i am buying a new motor do i need to get the ecu with it or will my old one work?

Are you getting another h22a4?

If they are going to just include the ecu with it then take it.

Yours is perfectly fine as long as it's a stock an engine.

it is i threw a rod in my old one, i am gettin off ebay thats why i ask. what do you mean by stock?

theres no aftermarket parts on in or around it cai and a few other bolt ons aint gonna matter for 1k i doubt anything been done unless someone is just trying to get rid of a bad engine any warranty?

they sold it i hate to say it i am about to just give up on my lude. i cant find a reasonable price on a engine any where.

i have a stock motor forsale.... if you can get to me i would even swap it in for a good price. but if you are mechanically inclined i would pick a up a jdm motor like the others are recommending and put it in. jdms go for 800- up depending if you get a tranny w/ it.
as far as ecu... yours will be fine to use.
