k&n air filter

Ok, I tried looking for a thread about k&n drop in air filters, but no luck.

So I'm deciding on getting a k&n drop in air filter, and I'm wondering mostly on the mpg gains, how much are you expected to gain? is there better throttle response as well?

Anyone with real experience with it are helpful. thanks.

Also, is there anyway to clean the stock intake tubes? is it helpful to clean inside of it? tips on how ?

Well I must say, I don't think you did search. Because if you had you'd have found this (also it's in the middle of page 4 under the 5th gen section atm):

K&N pannel filter

And taken from that thread in case you're too lazy to click the link.

Seriously dude.

It's a filter. It's only job is to filter air before it enters your engine. Yes they are better than an OEM Honda air filter for many reasons. Will you notice a hp gain just from swapping it in? Probably not. Is it better than a cai? Define better. The truth is that if you had the engine tuned properly afterwards then any intake would be a good improvement. I've seen an intake and cat back exhaust yeild a 15% increase in power at the wheels after a tune, when the same car made barely more than stock the day before the tune.

Deja vu haha. mpg gains? couple drops a tank. throttle response? I dunno, cant remember. you will save money in the long run though by just cleaning said filter than replacing the paper ones
