what would be the point in that. That's kind of down grading, unless you put that h22 head on the h23 bottomend.

Take the head and put it on the h23 block that would be awsome and boost your compression up, which would help with hp.

Yes the f20b is the slower of the engines. If you want to stay close to the same power either put the h22 head on the h23 block or put another h22 in it.

Re: motor swap help

Well if that's the adver from ebay that's not a h22 engine it prolly just says that to sell faster. The h22 is a 2.2 litre vtec, well the f20 is a 2.0 litre single overhead engine.

Re: motor swap help

Yes it will but make sure it is a h22. If it isn't you will be downgrading by a lot. I mean do you just want it as a driver or you want to mod it. And its ok I have done a **** ton on research over the years, just read a lot and you will know a lot in the end and ask help that's what people like me and others on the forum are for.

all h22's, h23's, and f22's drop in with no problem. you obviously didnt search hard enough either, considering i found this
JDM Honda Prelude H22A 97-01 OBD-2 Engine Only vtec : eBay Motors (item 250581138966 end time Mar-17-10 10:10:48 PDT)

89prelude is right too. dont downgrade. if you want to save yourself some time/headaches, you can get this too
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda...Q5fAccessories
its relatively the same as an h22, save for some differances such as displacement, redline, some other small differances

Re: motor swap help

If from the top you got to unblot your cvs, any sensor or wiring contected to the engine and then your motor and trannt mounts and use a cheery picker to lift it up and out. If your doin it from the top its easier to unbolt the tranny from the block and do it that way. Or you could use the cherry picker to lift the whole car up and do it from the bottom. Its all pretty easy, get a chiltons or heynes manuel for help. Its basically just unbolting everything. Putting it back in is the hard part.

Its nice to see that I'm not the only one to recently throw a rod lol. I have a 95 Si H23 and I'm in the process of putting another H23 in it but with mods and a 3 angle valve job. Its been 3 or 4 weeks without a car. Its a pretty ****ty deal throwing a rod huh?

Shoudla said from the beginning it was an H23 Vtec....the usdm H23s didn't have vtec...that's why they wouldn't be as fast in a 5th gen.
