Lowering Springs Help

What's up everybody?

I want to lower my 01 Lude for a better look and of course better handling. Been asking around locally and a lot of people said go for TEIN S TECH lowering springs. Found some at reasonable prices on ebay but now I am wondering if it is wise to put those kind of springs on stock struts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: Lowering Springs Help

its fine, if you do more then a 2.5 drop then you need new struts i do believe.

Re: Lowering Springs Help

whoa 2.5 is definitely too much especially since baltimore has some very rugged streets. but thanks

STOP!!!! TALKINGGG!!!!!!

it's always recommended to change the struts when lowering the car, no matter what amount. it's just a matter of time of when the stock shocks will blow with lowering springs, so since you're already tearing the entire suspension apart, you might as well do it right and change it all at once, instead of doing the same work twice.

Re: Lowering Springs Help

yeah i might as well do at all at once. do you know of any good struts to use with the TEIN S springs. Sure as hell can't afford to go full TEIN suspension.

Re: Lowering Springs Help

you'll be fine with those Tein S springs on stock struts.

*I've been rockin ground control coilovers w/ stock struts for about 1.5yrs now. dropped roughly 3.5-4 inches.

Re: Lowering Springs Help

Im running H&R Sport springs with KYB AGX shocks and I love it. It wasnt a big drop but it didnt need a camber kit and it looks perfect IMO. It literally rides like stock over rougher roads and still handles way better then stock.

Re: Lowering Springs Help

thanks guys for the all the input I shall definitely take all your posts into consideration. Because of other obligations I will have to get it piece by piece. so i will get springs first followed by struts shortly afterwards, and just continue on from there. a buddy of mines has some 17's that he isn't using anymore so I am taking them and probably look for a good tire package from tirerack.com or maybe look on here.

i just can't wait to start getting this project moving

Re: Lowering Springs Help

ive been rockin tein stechs for about a year and a half without struts and i recommend it for a street setup. If you wanna go all out at the track or have a race stiff suspension then by all means stay away from these. These spring were made for show, barely any stiffer than stock. Did make my car look 110 times better than stock height tho ill tell you that rite now.. lol hope this helps.. if you have any other questions about em feel free
