Ah it's been way too long folks! Where to start with the updates?

For those who remember me, used to own a 1998 Supermarine Honda Prelude in automatic trim. I converted to manual late last year before the holidays and proud of this accomplishment because I saved and horded parts for almost 2 whole years!!

This is what she looks like now:

Running a modified P72 but currently experiencing trouble with a CEL 9 which I'm currently looking into.

Re: Nitrogen's 5th Gen Automatic to Manual swap

Sitting on 16.5, same as factory, dizzy itself hasn't moved. I suspected this to be the problem and one of the first things I checked.

Thanks for the reply! Anyone else had the time to study what I've posted?

Been out of action on the forums for a while now, focusing on building up my business this side of the world. Hope you are doing very well!

Distributor is good, will try another spare just to verify.

Re: Nitrogen's 5th Gen Automatic to Manual swap

The obd1 dizzy is a 10 plug. I chose to go OBD1 also because i didn't want to install the ckp and tdc sensors with the balancer shafts. The diagram below should help you if you do intend on swapping out the dizzy.

I wish you the best of luck with you project

Latest developments, checked continuity and resistance of c131 and it was well within range. Investigation continues.

Next check is to modify the automatic ecu and replace the P72.

Re: Nitrogen's 5th Gen Automatic to Manual swap

I recently did a AUTO to 5spd swap by Bustr. He had to convert my motor from a OBD2 to a OBD1. he had to splice n cut a few wires to go from a H22 dizzy to a H23 dizzy since I also swapped in a JDM motor bc my USDM motor crank n crank pulley was shot!!!

Hit up Bustr....he should def know what you're talking about and guide you through!!!

Re: Nitrogen's 5th Gen Automatic to Manual swap

yeah try putting the auto back to see if you get the CEL,but the only thing is you still might get a CEL but thats for having the auto ecu in the 5spd, if you want you can just try and change the resistor so it reads it as a 5spd, and just see if you get that CEL that you were getting before with the p72 in your modifed auto ecu.if you dont get that CEL then you would know its that p72 ecu.

Re: Nitrogen's 5th Gen Automatic to Manual swap

Okay. I would just swap the resistor in the stock computer. Sounds like something crazy with the p72. If you want I can guide you through, as long as you have patience and can solder.

I'll read soto's post - hope the P72 isn't at fault here.

Re: Nitrogen's 5th Gen Automatic to Manual swap

well if you can mod the auto ecu and its fine then you'll know its the p72 and either you can find another ecu or try something else and meanwhile just drive with the moded ecu.
