Paint for INT bezel & window switches?

What would be the best choice in paint for the interior A/C-Radio bezel? I think a matte finish would suit my taste best. Seems like a matte wouldn’t reflect as much sunlight as say a gloss or even a semi-gloss. From those who have done so, what is the best or longest lasting spray paint for the 3 plastic parts (bezel, plastic window control area on both doors)?

There really is a lot of options. Do you have a set price range in mind, and how much time do you have to invest?

Re: Paint for INT bezel & window switches?

Well, I really was wanting to keep it as stock looking as I can. Silver ext with black leather int. Kinda thought about a really dark gray that almost was black. I have plenty of time as I have 2 bezels and a alternate ride. The bezel that is on it with some ugly ass mount, and one I just bought from importunerdj that I plan on replacing the existing one with. But I thought maybe of waiting to install the new bezel until the HU is replaced. That would keep it from being ripped out again. What about the finish of the paint guys? I am definitely going to stay far away from those F***ing eBay stickers, haha.

I've found for low traffic interior pieces pretty much anything that will stick well will be fine. But personally I prefer anything Dupli-color. Just go down to o'reilys and check out what they have. It should state pretty plainly if it is good for plastic and such. And the one thing that I can't state enough when referring to spray can paintjobs: It is ALL in the prep-work. Bad prep=****ty paint job. Good prep= damn near pro paint job.

Re: Paint for INT bezel & window switches?

Thanks Lazer. Good prep as in clean area, that has been sanded with extremely fine grit for the door handle area? I plan on just cleaning the bezel up. It's almost mint anyway. I just wanted to paint it the exact matching color before it is installed.

Re: Paint for INT bezel & window switches?

Awesome, thanks guys. I will post pics. Should two or three light coats be enough? With plenty of dry time, of course. Got a couple things that are a higher priority at this time. Rack and pinion boot/possible CAT. Just wanted to get my sh-t together with this. But I am going to wait just a little bit because I am going to try the reupholestry how to on the doors while they are off. Armrest is completely off on the passenger's side.

Re: Paint for INT bezel & window switches?

BUMP!!! Updated with pics as requested. F--k some stickers. Lazer, you were right on the money with the Dupli-Color advice. I used the Dupli-Color Black Metallic for the A/C-Radio trim. Looks tight as sh*t to me. Much better than I thought it would have turned out.
