PRELUDE TUNING HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Helllo everyone.

So here goes...
I have a 99 SH. 2.2 vtec and I have modded it.
Now heres my problem.... I think I need to modify the fuel delivery to match the
high perf parts I bolted on. I have reviewed and researched for a long time, and
cannot come to any real conclusion. I also have a 4th gen vtec 2.2 93 prelude.
I love these cars. I also have a corvette, but thats for another forum.
So here goes...
The 99 SH ... I have a skunk2 intake, and a skunk2 68mm throttlebody.(installed) The car screws, but I feel like it isnt using these parts correctly and the engine still thinks its stock. How do I reliably fix this issue?
I want this fixed before I do headers, or anything else really. My 93 actaully feels faster.... I cannot even understand why. I havent done a tuneup on the 99, but I have all the parts, but I doubt that is the reason. I dont like the vtec engagment point, which is also making me think about getting a Apexi AFC NEO. It will also match the fuel/air ratio to the vtec engagment point, so
it will be a good mix and not destroy my engine from premature detonation.
so thats my first problem.

please advise what to do from here. If you can help in person.. even better.
I live in CT. Also my ATTS unit is giving me a problem. I found a ATTS control unit in my trunk when I bought the car, and the light was on. The dealer just cleared the codes and when i was driving it home, it came back on. So, this weekend, I installed my new SK2 throttlebody and put the other ATTS CU in, next to the ECU, and removed the old ATTS CU. I found a ATTS guide online somewhere... but when me and my mechanic tried to run codes for this biatch, it didnt kick back any codes other than something about my EGR. (unpluged due to SK2 IM).

So, I ask.... please help me... where do i go from here? how to I continue to
make my engine take more air/fuel do match what I added to the engine?
my 4th gen was so much easier, all I did was add parts and it loved it.
let me know if you can help. I will post a pic of them both also.

Re: PRELUDE TUNING HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

alright bud i can help haha, first things first, you really do not need an apex afc neo (i know this because i have one installed, and i dont use it) what you need is a hondata s200 or s300 and you need to get your car tuned by a proffesional, the bigger intake mani and throttle body arent going to do you any good if all its doin is getting more air right? because your ecu is only going to let so much air in anyways. SO what you need is to get an OBD1 conversion harness from- Phearable.net - Electronic Fuel Injection Tuning Solutions - Hondata, Neptune, Crome, Uberdata, Ectune, AEM, Honda Tuning, Widebands, Fuel Pumps, Intercoolers, Turbos, LS/VTEC, ECU Chipping, Chipped Ecus, P28 ... then you will need to invest in a new ecu unit i would recomend a p28 thats what im getting (this is because your current OBD2 ecu will forget the tune) then you need to find someplace you can get your car tuned so you may optimize your new parts! simple as that... oh i trust you have a 5 speed, not an autotragic?

Re: PRELUDE TUNING HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup, 5 spd.
Do you know of any places around me that I can do this?
Um, I have a 4th gen prelude that i use as my daily driver.
on ebay theres a **** ton of ecus, but once I get 1 will it support the ATTS also?
or will it just be disabled?
I could yank the 4th gen's ecu, but I d need to replace it.
what car had the p28 or where do you get one?

Ok, I looked at the ecus on the website you gave me.. thought they were going to be way more expensive... not too bad..
um, so if i order the ecu for my year(s) 99 prelude and the obd2->harnessobd1 for the 96 ecu I am good right? plug and play awesome?
plz let me know ill order the godaam thing tonight.

Re: PRELUDE TUNING HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is all you will need correct- the OBD1 conversion harness and the p28 ecu from a 96? civic. I would go ahead and order it, but not install it till you get it tuned, i may be worng but i think it needs to be mapped for an h22 because it would think its running a ****ty civic motor. dont forget the s200/s300 hondata tuning unit tho- thats where you will be able to tell the difference in your power after the tune

Re: PRELUDE TUNING HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You will lose the ATTS when you convert to OBD1. Then again if you are throwing an EGR code then isn't the ATTS disabled anyway (it automatically disables itself with any CEL)?

ectune or neptune is much cheaper and equally capable as s300.

s200 is outdated junk.

Re: PRELUDE TUNING HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would suggest a P72 over the P28. The p72 will control the IABs in your stock Intake manifold, the P28 won't. Of course if you're running an after market IM then you could stick with the P28 and have it tuned.

Re: PRELUDE TUNING HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No one has directly answered my question..
I have the obd2->1 harness and a p13 from a 95 prelude.. i was told i could use this one and it is less restrictive and better than the 93.
I wanna just plug it in, but im not sure if I can do it
please let me know ASAP!!!!

Re: PRELUDE TUNING HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if you can plug it in you can always try it. if it doesn't work u might have the wrong harness theres a OBD2a > OBD1 and OBD2b > OBD1 preludes are OBD2a. but like everyone else said you will lose your ATTS functions. ppl do OBD1 conversions to run chipped ECUs with a tune. or they are like me and run obd1 cus they got screwed by the immobilizer in the OBD2 ecu. running a stock obd1 ecu with your mods isn't going to be any better then your obd2 ecu.
