HID help

Hey guys, I recently purchased a H1 HID conversion kit. I went to put in the bulbs, and they wouldn't stay in. The metal clip does not hold them in securely, they still move around a little. It is like the base of the bulb is not big enough. Any help? please

Re: HID help

This happened to me. What I did was I used a phillip and removed the metal clip and bent the clips a little closer together and put them back in. Then I found that the bulb did not reach far enough for the clip to actually hold it in place. So I removed the clip again and bent it more 'inward' (towards where the back of the bulb and the metal clip touches) and tried it again.

Basically, it's a guess and check system where you'll probably need to do this a couple of times until the bulb becomes secure. Beware though, the metal clips are pretty delicate, don't bend it too much at once or it will break.

Nonetheless, goodluck!

-Mike

Re: HID help

either that, or you could take some of that chrome HVAC tape and fold them up into little pieces and stick them between the bulb base and the clips so you dont have to bend a bunch of stuff up. that way if you ever want to put halogens back in you can without any problems.

Re: HID help

I basically had some metal wiring at hand and tied one end of the wire to one side of the clip then looped a few times around the wires connected to the HID n end the wiring to the opposite end of the clip!!! It works perfectly fine since then!!!
