How to Install Horn Loaded Compression Drivers

Hello everybody! I was fortunate enough to have the kind folks at Image Dynamics help me with the installation of full body HLCDs into my '99 prelude SH. Just wanted to share the how-to with you guys so hopefully some of you can take the plunge and find out for yourselves how awesome properly installed ID Horns can sound.

Oops.. not sure what I am doing wrong. The links are working for me. I will try again later to figure it out.

Anyway the video is on the Image Dynamics Forum under the subsection "Horn Tech" and entitled "Installation of Image Dynamics HLCD"

Re: How to Install Horn Loaded Compression Drivers

Hey thanks for posting the youtube link!

Horns are capable of delivering some really great results to a car's sound system if properly installed and setup. The first thing that I noticed right off the bat since starting to use horns a while ago was the benefit they had to proper imaging and staging simply because of the fact that they are farther away from you (the motors end up pretty damn far away from you once installed). Being placed under the dash yields much smaller path length differences. My next favorite thing about horns is how dynamic the sound is. These things are always so efficient and can take power well, get loud as hell, and sound crystal clear while doing it. I like to think of it as a more exhilirating listening experience while at the same time sounding more lifelike and realistic. These are just some good things I have to say about horns.. I'm in no means a pro. I've only been using horns for the past year or so. But the list of good things horns have to offer goes on.. I'd invite anybody curious about them to visit the ID forum and find out more for yourself.
