Re: swap over

I BOUGHT IT FROM best of jdm..aka engine land in canada..i have the reciet and everything just bought it 2 weeks ago and i was gonna do my swap but i have a 2000 prelude and this engine is for a 92-95...and i am not gonna repin everything or change oil pumps..i would rather just get the RIGHT ENGINE....so i will trade for one whatever or just sell everything.......and i dont need a tranny mine is fine also have a new clutch just sitting in the box waiting for my swap that i dont think is gonna happen

Re: swap over

yeah dude, you can swap over the OBD2 stuff, its the sensors that are different, take your intake manifold off of your current engine. Its been done tons of times, internals can be left alone. On board diag.'s are the sensory components!

Re: swap over

dude dude dude dude dude don't get rid of that motor, you'll be so sorry. All you do is have to convert to OBD1. there are jumper harnesses.

OBD2A to OBD1 Jumper Harness

There ya go brosif. Always ask for help before you freak out.

And good luck man. There are a lot of people in NY that'll be able to put that motor in for you. Again just ask around thats all. Believe me someone on here will hop on and help you out.

Good Luck

i swapped out my Motor & Trans in my SH and dropped in a JDM H22 with an LSD in one night. it's not that bad! :P

Even if you take your time, 2 days max to swap over to obd2.

Re: swap over

is that a JDM H22A?

If so you're gonna wanna prep that engine before putting back in to save you some headache.

** Good call on the Oil Pump! that will take care of the crank sensors.
* swap distributor's. JDM = internal coil, USDM = external coil
* Use the stock engine wiring harness that came with your car!
* you may need to pull the pressure switch off your VTEC solenoid and install on new engine
* You may need to swap oil pressure sensor too. If yours is like mine, the connector
will be different from JDM to USDM
* I'd also swap over exhaust manifold's too. This will make for easier fitment between
the downpipe and the cat.

You do those things and you'll be golden to just drop it in and turn the key.

Re: swap over

Re: swap over

it doesn't matter what year oil pump you get. I'm pretty sure they're all the same. as long as it has the mounting points for your crank sensors.

as for the manifolds, here's the issue. JDM = right hand drive. so the downpipe that connects to the cat will be about 2 inches to the left. you can make it work, but if it's just a stock manifold i'd bolt on the one that came with the car.

in my case, my swap came with a jasma header and i was redoing myexhaust anyways so made it work.l
