Lights blinking and dash blinking w/ no start after disconnecting battery neg term

Hello,

First of all, hello to the community here! This is my first post. I'm a new owner and I love my car but I've been having a few small problems with it. ATM it won't start!

My 99 Base Prelude won't start after disconnecting my negative battery terminal on advice of MSD.

Prelude is bone stock other than cold air and MSD Blaster coil and ignition system.

Car was starting fine before disconnecting battery neg terminal for 15 minutes and plugging back in.

I've checked and re-checked the battery contact and it appears to be okay.
I'm suspecting fuses.
Please help!! This is costing me a tonne of money not having a running car!!

Anything you can do to help is kindly appreciated.
Again, rear lights blink along with small blue light in the headlights and dash lights blink. It makes a clicking sound inside when the dash blinks which sounds like turning signal. Putting keys in ignition lights come on as expected. There is a click when I turn the key but it does not turn over.
Friend says he can hear click from the front of the car when I turn the key.
Defo sounds like an electronics issue.

"ton" not tonne

Check battery voltage! Make sure you have a clean connection from the battery terminals to the cables.

Does your car have an alarm that you don't know about or aren't mentioning?

Take the MSD off your car. It is a useless upgrade and a waste of money unless you're planning on pushing 500+hp. Seriously Honda knew what they were doing with their ignition system.

Research your upgrades before throwing parts at your car! This will save you money and headache in the long run.

im having the same issue i think it is due to the factory alarm thing. there is a code that you need to enter into your radio. idk where to find the code tho. possibly the dealership. ill be going there tomorrow to find put. ill let you know what i find out

Sounds like you have a anti theft system cutting out the ignition. The alarm is actually activated and not allowing you to start your car, If you do not have the remote to disarm it. Turn off the ignition then look under the dashboard for a 2 way toggle switch. Switching that to the other side will make it go in valet mode. Turn the ignition back on and try to start.
