important timing belt question.

what are some noticable signs that the timing belt needs to be changed?

there isn't a sign until its too late, and the belt snaps and destroys your motor. its recommended to change it every 90K miles.

Not exactly true, I heard my water pump bearing before mine went. So I parked it until I had the cash for the parts and labor since it was last winter, and I wasn't lying in the snow to do it myself so $350 in labor too
