f22 tappet clearances

Its a long shot, with everyone having a H22 vtec, but my bus is a non vtec f22 2.2. To cut a long story short, Ive found the clearances for a h22 vtec, a 2.0L and a 2.3L, which are all completely different with the clearances, but Ive no idea what the f22 should be set to. I was thinking 0.15-0.19 inlet and 0.17-0.21 exhaust as per the h22 vtec, but really havent got a clue, as not in the 5th gen honda manual Any advice gratefully accepted, as the ticking is doing my head in......

Re: f22 tappet clearances

cheers lad. From the 4th gen manual, Ive found the 2.2 non vtec is 0.07-0.11 inlet and 0.15-0.19 exhaust, but it doesnt tell me if thats for a f22a dohc or a sohc. Mines a f22b dohc, so still none the wiser. If those are the figures I need to use, my inlets are way out and would explain the ticking, but still not convinced. Anyone else fit to give me any advice. Im thinking going tighter than I should would wear the cams, so hence why I would like her right. Cheers again in advance

Re: f22 tappet clearances

The f22b dohc enhine is more related the the h23 than anything else. The clearances might be the same. Don't quote me on that though.

Re: f22 tappet clearances

Whoa! Isnt 0.12 not abit tight on the exhaust clearance? Ive set mine to 0.10 on inlets and 0.17 on exhaust. The ticking definely alot quieter but still there hhmmmmmmm.

intake .10 in exhaust .12 in is supposed to be the ideal clearances.
