HID with Low/High Beam help

I'm looking or hping to pick up my first Lude in the next couple of week if the car checks out Its a 97 Eucalyptus Green/Tan Leather with 122k on it. I currently have an Integra with an 8000k HID kit and my High beams are stock Sylvania bulbs. I'm looking for a kit for the Lude in 6000k or 8000k but i'd like for my high beams to work also. Not worried about the high beams actually being HID's but i do want to be able to use my high beams. from searching, i havent been able to find a definite answer as to what type kit i need to get with these type cars. Can someone direct me as to what type kit i need that will allow my High beams to work also or give me a good explanation as to the way these bulbs work in this car. Is it one bulb or 2 separate like in a Teggy? Any help would be appreciated and if you have pics of your cars with HID and working high beams, please post them. I'm also looking for soem good tint pics of 35% and 20% on 5th gens with some good day time pics. I was looking for a thread on Green Ludes, msut not be that many around or maybe an unpopular color. Thanks for any help and advice.

Re: HID with Low/High Beam help

2 seperate bulbs. you can make ur low beams hid and high halogen by simply replacing the low bulbs with hid bulb+ballast and leaving ur highs alone. if you want high beam hid's too then order a second hid kit.

Re: HID with Low/High Beam help

okay--thanks I appreciate that. Are they both H1 bulbs and I see some kits that say dual bulbs, does that mean the kit has High & Low off one ballast for both to be HID or i do need 2 kits?

Re: HID with Low/High Beam help

okay so i can get one kit and the high beams be stock and still work fine. Thanks thats what i wanted to know. What brands have you guys had luck with? I used Xenon visions with my Teggy but i hear the clip to hold the Prelude bulbs are diff and some kits have trouble holding hte bulbs in without modifications.

Re: HID with Low/High Beam help

with the 5th it uses h1 bulbs for the high and low its a dual bulb design. you can put in a kit in the low beams and still have the highs with the halogen.

just know if you have hids in the low the brights will make almost no difference if they have halogen.

ive got a ddm 5000k kit in my lude for the low beams and love it. high beams are still halogen silverstars tho they make almost no difference when i turn em on.

the only modifications i had to make with the ddm kit was bending the metal clip that holds the bulb on and i crimped a new connector on the negitive wire that plugs into the headlight socket so its the same size as the power wire.

for some reason the plug on the negative wire was smaller.

Re: HID with Low/High Beam help

Thanks i appreciate the info. Currently my highs on the teggy still make a diff with my 8000k kit but they are 9005 & 9006 bulbs. If anyone has some good shots of 6000k kit in a 5th gen please post some good shots.
