Re: strut bar/brands

that question has some wording issues hahaha. but yes they will do the same thing essentially. The ebay ones dont fit very well usually, and i have heard of them actually bending. Basically you get what you pay for i guess.

Re: strut bar/brands

some people say they get the same results out of teh no name brands as they do the name brand ones. they all do the same thing, but ive seen megan have some pretty cheap stuff on ebay and atleast it comes painted so it adds some bling to ur engine bay an trunk

Re: strut bar/brands

Megan is an eBay brand basically haha. I have the front strut bar on my car. it works good. makes the engine bay look a little nicer. helped with body roll. strut bars don't reall do anything major for handling though anyway

Re: strut bar/brands

Well I'll put it this way:

We fitted a no-name brand front strut bar toa mate's car. He noticed a nice difference, exactly what he'd expected. Later, we fitted a Neuspeed one to replace the no-name one. Noticed a substantial difference over the old one.

Re: strut bar/brands

i think megan mite be a little stronger but they both do the same. and the only struts i think that actually effect preludes are the custom ones or the 3 point ones because ludes come pretty stiff stock

for what part? Megan is a step above a no name brand. and it's the general concensus that although strut bars play a roll in suspension, they don't do as much as sway bars, a drop, etc

I can tell that you've never done a direct comparison; first driving with one fitted, then removing it. Even a no-name brand brace (if it's properly fitted and kinda well designed) will help; though a properly engineered product (like a Tanabe or Neuspeed brace) will be a noticably huge amoune better. And the huge 3 point jobbies from ESP and the like (NOTE: Search for the ESP bars under our product reviews section) make a huge difference again.

Re: strut bar/brands

Common sense goes along way here. Which ever brace you are looking at, pay particular attention to what it is made out of and how it connects. As with all brace's they are part of a system, and strengthing any part of the system is a good thing.
