Advice for noob please!

Couple questions please;

Is there a way to tell if one is a genuine Motegi model? Other than body kit and alloys which I think were available for standard model, is there a way of checking for certain? I know should have a Montegi badge but this could have been added and some cars have been debadged.

Also what do you reckon is the average life of the engine? I know depends on how maintained and used, but generally what would you consider too high mileage to buy?

Many thanks

Re: Advice for noob please!

Motegi? I am almost 100% that there is not even such a thing as a Motegi Prelude.

Now, you might mean Mugen. That is different but there is also now genuine Mugen Prelude either. There are after market parts that are Mugen but be careful to make sure they are genuine because a lot of companies make knock off parts.

IMO a car can never be to high mileage to buy especially with good maintenance. I just bought a 1993 with 240k miles on it but the lower the miles the better obviously. With age sometimes the engine can be the last of your worries. The suspension could be wore out along with other things.

Hm, yea after looking it up I see it is a Euro car, I've never heard of such a thing.

Well, all you can do really is run the vin number to make sure it is one I guess.

Yeah man there is one. Probably confused you because of the cheap rim brand Motegi... they might be one in the same though I don't know.

^yea, that's what confused me. Motegi is cheap but it is a good reputable company. I just never picured Honda being in kahoots with them to redesign a factory Prelude. lol

Re: Advice for noob please!

The Motegis were all 4WS I believe, so it should have a BB8 chassis code (check the plate that's pop rivetted to the radiator support panel). Other than that, you're right, the bodykit and wheels were available as options across the range and both are easy to fit.

Not that I like directing people away from here, but have you checked out preludeUK?
