Stupid missfires! again~!

Ok so i kept getting random misfires about a month ago. Misfire cylinder #2 So i replaced all 4 plugs with NGK iridiums got brand new NGK wires and a brand new dizzy cap. Well i threw another CEL today and guess what! Random misfires on all cylinders! Ahhhhggg its driving me crazy. So i guess my next step would be the coil pack? Or any other suggestions are welcome. Or is there a way to clean the coil pack? Im guessing not. Ok thanks for any input time for some football.

I don't know what to tell you rather than just check to make sure all the wires have a good connection. Hope you get it solved.

I told my dad about your predicament and he said it could be that they are wired wrong or the timing.
Might want to check those out.

You could try cleaning up your egr valve, a carbon build up caused me misfires.

i see you replace cap, wires, plugs... but what about the rotor inside the cap??? check your gap on your spark plugs. if all these check out... even check your injectors... while the car is at idle remove one injectors plug at a time. you should get a really bad rough idle when you disconnect each one. if you don't then that injector is bad and should be replaced.

The rotor inside looks fine. I probably didn't need to replace the cap but idid anyway. The gaps are fine on the plugs are correct I checked those before I put them in. As far as the injectors I'm pretty sure they are ok, the car runs and idles fine. I can't tell a diffrence in the way the engine runs. It probaby runs better than the day I got it over a year ago. It just throws the missfire CEL every few weeks now.

01 lude H22a4 5 speed manual...going to pick up the EGR gasket and some carb cleaner in just a few minutes to try that out. Oh and ordered me some of the jdm replica clear fog's last night as a side note
Im realy thinking it will be the coil pack for some reason

Re: Stupid missfires! again~!

Ok just cleaned the EGR port...didnt do the 4 valves but we'll see how it goes now. The EGR was as dirty as the one in the DIY video...and put new gasket on. Dropped one of the coil pack washers..omg that was a pain getting it out of the bay.

Re: Stupid missfires! again~!

ok talked to my mechanic today...going to go see him the 28th...the day before i turn 30 oh yay. tired of messing with this myself. and oh yes my mechanic said it very well might be a crank position sensor...where is that located on the engine? im not that mechanically inclined...would i be able to do this myself?

Re: Stupid missfires! again~!

Crank Position Sensors goin bad on these cars is common. I replaced mine at about 140,000. A buddy of mine as well had to replace his. It is on the top left of the engine its quite easy to get to.
