are these the right foglights?? help plz

hey so i'm lookin for jdm replica fog's. and i know theres a difference between the older ones that melt if you do hids in them and the V2 that dont melt.

so my question is, are these the ones that are good to go for hids??

I don;t think so man. The new ones have the reflector over the bulb inside the housing( easiest way for me to tell. AND the new ones come with 3 harnesses( because they changed the way that they are wired...but thats not the point.)

97 98 99 00 01 Honda Prelude JDM Fog Lights + Bumper : eBay Motors (item 290389811212 end time Jan-14-10 14:34:39 PST)
^^
That's the kind you want to look for. Just notice the subtle differences. Such as the reflector, the glue they used for the lens, the switchpanel, harness, so on and so forth.

I really endorse buying these, I can't express how impressed I was with the housing...the harness was a bit screwy but a little modding and all was good.

I dont know who told you that the old fogs melt when you install HIDS in them. I have the OEM JDM fogs and I went from 3000K HID to now 6000K HID and they havent melted at all!!!

Unless you're referring to the 1st version of the replica JDM fogs. Those i've heard melt with HID!!! IS that what you're talking about?!?!

They are the first version( from what I can see...) It's up to you if you want to use them...as just fogs they are great but many people have had troubles with them melting with HIDs. I can't speak from experience because I didnt have those fogs, or HIDs...But I do know that the first version are only rated for 35watt bulbs whereas the second( that I linked you to) are rated for 55watt. I haven't heard anything about the second version melting on anyone yet, and honestly they are as close to OEM replacement as you are going to get IMO. I don;t know much about HIDs so I can't say for sure if they are all going to be 55watt or if you can find certain ones that are going to burn a little less hot than another so thats up to you man.

Hope that helps some...

"authentic jdm" is retarded. why would you pay $300+ dollars for something, when you can get the same sh!t for $75? the only thing youre missing from the ebay ones is that they the "authentic sweet jay dee em" ones say stanley on them

well, lazer loves his, and he swears by the quality. just depends what ones you get I guess. my car already had jdm ones in, so I dunno about the reps. but I meant that statement for just about every part. I always hear stupid kids saying jdm everything. like jdm gas cap, or oil cap or stupid sh!t like that

JDM ones and replica ones are pretty much the same sh*t except for price. I have replica ones and you would NEVER tell the difference if I didnt tell you. The housing and mounting bracket were high quality metal brackets and not just cheap plastic. The harness pluged right into factory harness and came with brand new switch bezzel to fit all 4 switches. I say the replica ones are just as good if not better.

I've never seen the JDM fogs in person, held them or whatever so I'm not going to say that replicas are as good or better. But I will say that I am 100% satified with the housings. the hardware that came with them and the wiring was a little botched but hey...They are only ebay fogs afterall...

hmm i wonder what ones i got. they have a plaastic housing(i believe dont have them infront of me) but i remember looking at them and they have some sort of vent to let hot air out and keep them cool on the back. so im guessing mine should be good with HID's? Its a 35w 3000k kit
