Burning smell, oil? new gasket?

I recently had a valve gasket replaced as well as a spark plug wire replaced due to oil leakage. I drove it home and noticed a burning smell. smelled like it could be burning oil. The shop changed the oil while it was there. Could this just be oil burning from drippings onto the exhaust pipes?

Any other ideas?

Thanks
Brad

Re: Burning smell, oil? new gasket?

yeah most likely cuz the filter is right above the down pipe and always gets on there when changed. just drive it for a few days to see if the smell goes away. it may take a while

Re: Burning smell, oil? new gasket?

Hey just like 94 lude guy said could be wet from some oil that fell on the exhuast ,also wait few days and put a card board under the car and see if it is wet ,then that will give an idea from where is leaking , if leaking then check your oil filter oil switch and see if the erea is wet if is found to be wet and the filter is tight ,the oil cooler oil seal is probably faulty .The o ring is sand witch between the block and the oil filer cooler that has the two rubber liner connected .Hit up if need more info on this matter .
