Honda Prelude Forum

So I'm new here and this is my first post. I just picked up a 99 Prelude with only 64k on her. I already "fixed" the over sensitive brake light by adding a little brake fluid thanks to the FAQ's here.
My question is... do these cars not have amber running/park lights in the front? I checked the bulbs and they are only single filament, they work fine as turn signals. I checked the auto parts and they are the correct bulbs, so what gives??

the running/parking lights on in te headlights. heyre the tiny little bulbs closer to the grille sides of the headlights

ahhh...there they are. When I was checking for them it was at night with the headlights on, and was expecting them in the directionals. Now to fix the cloudy headlights so they show up better.

i forget if the 5G's headlights are plastic or glass, but if they're plastic, you can wetsand them and finish w/ meguires Plasti-X. pretty sure there's a DIY on here on how to do that.

I recently did mine, pm me if you need any help

They are only turn signals. I thought they should be running lights also, so I converted them to a dual bulb and turned them into running/turnsignals. I also made the side marker blink alternatly from the turns.

Was it just a matter of installing dual filament bulbs or did you have to do some wiring?

There is some minor wiring that needs to be done for this mod. An extra wire has to be run from the wire harness of the existing running light in the headlight to the turn signal. You need to find a dual-filament bulb and socket. Just replace the existing socket with the dual socket and wire it accordingly.
