jdm obd1 injectors in obd2

i am in the middle of a jdm swap into my 97 base prelude. the jdm motor is an h22a, i am waiting on my h23 distributor so i can rewire everything and all of that bs.

i was told to swap the fuel rail from my h22a4 or swap the injectors, but my old h22a4 motor had RC injectors(unsure of the size) someone told me if i use them with my stock ecu, the car won't run.

i understand that you can modiify the jdm injectors so that the obd2 plugs fit on them, but i also read that obd1 injectors are the saturated type and they won't work with obd2 either?

so my question is, will by h22a jdm injectors work fine on my obd2 harness with the stock computer as long as i cut the tabs off the injectors?

thanks!

if you use OBD1 injectors, you'll need a resistor box for them to work properly. I was told that any 4th Gen. Prelude resistor box will work.

About the wiring, I'm not sure how it is. I just recently received some OBD 1 injectors and resistor box, but haven't had time to hook it all up

Wait.... What? I dont know about that one Brian i think that you can run the injectors that came with the motor with out the resistor box. I did everything that he mentioned above i just repinned a h23 Dizzy and extended the ckp/tdc senors to it. Also the injectors that came with the motor i kept installed. They are an exact fit for the obd2 harness. Damn i wish i remember where i saved the peak/hold and saturated write up.

yup, i ordered a usdm h23 distributor with the external coil as instructed by Bustr. i read somewhere that the plugs for the harness are not the same, but come to think of it i believe the writeup on the site was about putting an h22 in a civic.

so does anyone know for certain if i need a resistor box?? thanks!

H23 distributor with external coil? I got an h23 dizzy with internal coil which makes it a 10 plug. Rywire.com has the diagram of how to pin the plugs.

Re: jdm obd1 injectors in obd2

mine is an h23 disributor out of a 92-95 prelude si usdm. apparently the internal coil ones suck. mine is an 8 pin plug and then the 2 pin plug with it. this way i can keep the external coil that my 97 prelude uses and just extend the 4 wires for the sensors. i am just not sure if the jdm injectors can be used, i don't want to fry them. worst case scenario ill put the RC ones in for now even if it runs a little rich until i get new ones, i need this car on the road

Re: jdm obd1 injectors in obd2

needs a resistor box for jdm injectors. jdm motors are obd1... even all obd1 usdm motors use resistor boxes. they are not hard to find or wire in. make it easy use your stock injectors. at least you can see if it runs. then swap out and try other things.
