valve clearances.. DO THEM!

Just got doing them on my SiR and also replacing the ground wires.. I highly recommend all of you do this it is a night and day difference in power/throttle response and not mention a well serviced engine is a happy engine! it takes about 2 hours to the job right.. if any one needs a proper way to do it I have the ESM guide from honda its roughly 500meg big and its step by step so a caveman an do it.

Re: valve clearances.. DO THEM!

Do you have means of compressing this file in to a .zip file and hopefully making it something reasonable to download. If so, I would much appreciate the manual! Thanks.

Re: valve clearances.. DO THEM!

how does this sound.. I will make a DIY for everyone and yes I can compress the file if you have an FTP.. every one needs to make sure to have the proper honda adjustment tool and the proper feeler gauge and a decent torque wrench..I have done the job 6 times previously so its not that bad.. just takes some time to find its sweet spot.. I will use the actual pics from the guide I have so there is no mistakes. and I will add in my different/easier method so you all can do this more efficient.. this is good if your engine sounds kinda grainy,(kinda diesel like) this job should be done every 30k not though the engine needs to be bone cold.. I left the lude in the garage over night... i will post everything in the DIY

Re: valve clearances.. DO THEM!

Almost any Honda ohc engine will need the valve clearances adjusted from time to time. I do mine every 40,000km.

Re: valve clearances.. DO THEM!

Doing valve adjustments isn't that hard and atleast on a F series engine, it took me only 30 minutes to do mine, that's intake and exhaust valves. If any of you guys have alldata or maybe on google, look up the measurements on how much clearance is needed on the exhaust and intake. I forget what the measurements were since I did them while I was still in my tech school so I had all the reasources and tools. :) so I guess if you don't have the tools and reasources, it might take a little longer. But Cheeseman is right, I felt a damn good amount of torque difference before and after adjusting.
