few questions about my new intake

I just put in my new AEM V2 intake. It sounds amazing at wide open throttle and it definately pulls harder. Installing was a pain in the a** thought lol. I didn't think draining the radiator a little was necessary but that is what the directions said.
Quick question I have, While trying to get the bubbles out of the radiator I noticed foaming like green foam in the top where you pour the the coolant. What was that? Another one I have is it says to take the front passenger wheel off to take off the rest of the stock intake, is that fairly easy?
Thanks guys

Re: few questions about my new intake

pain in the ass? youre crazy haha. and you definately do not have to drain the radiator at all. my best guess for that green foam as you describe is just bubbles floating on the top. and taking out the resonator is really easy

Re: few questions about my new intake

I still don't get why you would have to drain some coolant to install a intake. Anyway, you don't have to take out the resonator if you don't want to. I left mine in on my accord.

Re: few questions about my new intake

its because with more air flow changes the compression of flow when the motor is running, they say it can cause you to blow the radiator cap off... no joke was on AEM's web site but i have yet to see anyone do that i doubt and the bubbles is from water and an oil which is in coolant have recirculate and mashed up creating bubbles thats the after affect if you sit and watch they will pop like soap bubbles in a bath and if you take the intake box off which takes like 30 mins your engine bay gets dirty fast, but the butterfly on the box does stop free flow untill Vtec

Re: few questions about my new intake

thanks guys, i didnt know why I would have to drain it either, I just did what the directions said to be safe. On the other hand my on battery cable had to rest on top of the intake while bolting it down. Can I unplug the positive cable and run it under the intake and back up?

mhmm, you can run the positive cable under as long as you have enough slack in it

Re: few questions about my new intake

2 things i didn't do when installing the intake..

-take the wheel off to get everything out..
-drain the radiator.

it would defeat plug and play..

that would be more like plug... waste your time. then play.

Re: few questions about my new intake

I took all my resonators out when i installed my v2 intake. I feel like thats alot of weight for nothing. plus the short ram gets cool air from the little gap that the resonator leaves

Good job on being able to read its what AEM says not me
i have never drained liquid to put an air intake or muffler on
but some of the company's actually post stuff like that on their web sites as disclaimers

and the bubbles in the radiator over flow or that flows from the top
is the mixture coming apart it is a 50/50 water to coolant oi that is basic science
it does leave a little at the top that dose not mix correctly sometimes in bubbles

oi didn't know this had to be SAT prep approved damn its a forum
but i guess ill have to essay form everything posted from now on
Point Noted good to see that being a dick is still approved !!!
