oil pressure level what should it be at???

Hello I just puchased a 2000 prelude. The check engine light came on and I have an oil pressure gauge that was already installed when I baugt the car. the oil pressure was at 25 before the check engine light came on. Since the light came on I noticed that the oil pressure went up to 50. I am wondering what the oil pressure should be at thanks.

Re: oil pressure level what should it be at???

it varies. at a cold idle, usually it should be around 90-100psi.
once it's warmed up, at idle it should be around 15-25psi.
cruising, around 50-60'ish.
WOT, 80'ish
