Power Locks Acting Weird

I can lock the drivers side door from the drivers side switch but it will not lock the passenger side along with it. My locks have been working fine up till a week ago. I can still lock the passenger side manually. When I try and lock the car from the passenger side, nothing happens, both locks do not lock. Can someone help me!!!

Its more than likely an electrical problem..id see if you could get a look at the locks themselves and see if anything visible is causing it

Re: Power Locks Acting Weird

Without testing to isolate the problem, more than likely it is the actuator, switch, or motor going bad in the passenger door. I don't recall exactly how that circuit works but it at some point one or more of those three parts have to pass current regardless of which switch hits it (driver's or pass switch). My first guess is the motor with the actuator being my second. But i havent looked at it in a while...

How about keyless entry? same thing as when you hit the driver's switch?

What about Unlock?

I dont have keyless entry but when I hit the drivers switch, it just locks the drivers door, not the passenger door. when I hit unlock it also only unlocks the drivers door, not the passenger door.

Re: Power Locks Acting Weird

Ugh. I'm guessing this is a common problem with Preludes because I also share your pain. I'm thinking of bringing it out to an alarm place to see if they can fix it. I tried lubing up the lock tracts and it seemed to help a bit, but it is not a complete fix. My main concern is that the motor is going out, and that is a pricey piece to buy.

Re: Power Locks Acting Weird

check the switch on the passenger side. to do that you will have to pull of the door panel.
