cel since sk2 manifold

hi all
right ever since i put the sk2 manifold on i seem to get a cel, its not all the time tho, its usually as the engine is warming up, when it does come on and the engine is warm i can switch engine off and back on again and it clears.
i read somewhere that sk2 manifolds usually throw cel for egt or something, is that right?
also when its on its just on continous, no flashing.

Re: cel since sk2 manifold

that manifold has no EGR, so thats prolly what your cel is for.

Re: cel since sk2 manifold

Even though it probably is on do to the lack of the EGR. You need to go get the code pulled at a local parts store just to make sure it isn't something else.

LMAO!!!!!!! I was about to say, damn! S2K mani fits H too? lol I see. I usually go by S2 or Skunk2.

My p28 ECU doesn't support EGR, so I'd be good to go.

Re: cel since sk2 manifold

okay ... your definitely getting and egr code... probably a p0401 code. there is as trick to eliminate that. you can make a block plate w/ some 1/8" aluminum or steal. silicone it to the egr and put bolts through to secure it. then plug it back in to the engine harness and run a new, longer vaccum line from it to the egr selonoid (there is a metal tube its supposed plugged into on the driverside shock tower i just can't remember which one yet. find somewhere to hide it...so it not an eye sore and wire tie so it does fall/rattle etc. this at least lets your computer think its still connected and working. clear your code... if you have any more ??? pm me.

Re: cel since sk2 manifold

top reply from a top man. ok i will try that but for the mean time quick question, with this light on will the ecu retard timing or anything like that? and is it harmful to the engine to drive it when the light is on. in otherwords other than the annoyance of the light is there actually any harm in it?

Re: cel since sk2 manifold

No there is no harm from an egress code. annoyance. Other things like map, tps, and 02 code effect drivability. Egr is just a emissions helper. It recirculates exhaust back into the intake to clean it and lower nox.
