Im swapping my head and putting a new head gasket pretty soon cuz a leak down test brought bad news, and i read somewhere that i need to change the head studs also cuz they get stretched out.Is that neccesery or can i reuse my old once?

Re: Head swap

Since you're already there I'd reccommend it. It probably isn't a neccessity, but like I said, do it while you're there. It's the old stitch in time saves 9 priinciple.

Re: Head swap

if you absolutely NEEEEEEEEDDDDDD to, you can. but it's not recommended. like brash said, if it's already torn apart you might as well do it, instead of risking them being a bit too stretched out, and you won't know until your brand new head gasket is leaking.... again.

if ARP's go for about 110-120, i'm sure OEM can't be more than like 80.
