Realizing how fast it all goes

Title meant to say ** Realizing how fast it all goes**

Well guys its my 17 birthday. It also happened to be the best night in months, until for 15 seconds i decided to put my life in danger and be a jackass.

instead of celebrating my birthday i am in tears, looking at close to $700-1000 in damage, being taken to court, and possible losing my license.

PLEASE for those who thinks its cool or fun to dick around with a car its not. I seriously put MINE and OTHERS lives at risk tonight.

i was 1 block from home, and this was the last drive of the year for faith. she hadnt been driven in months, and i figured my birthday was the best time to take her out.

Heres what happens when your emotions get control of you:

I know it may not be bad, but the principal is there. Learn from what NOT to do.

My parents wont even let me fix it. Its going to be sitting there all winter for me to look at. I got really lucky tonight, but in 15 seconds I made one of the dumbest choices in my life.

Faith is back at home after 1.5 hours of dislodging her from a snowbank.

damn bro what happened?!?! that sucks hard. but at least you get to save up the money TO fix it. hopefully everything works out for you. i learned not to dick around in my car anymore too. i was street racing my friend (i know, stupid, no flaming though, lesson learned) and it was our second run against my friends srt-4. our friend on a street bike pulls out in front of us, and we both almost hit him going like 90 it looked like this from the air [me] bike [other friend] i swerved and missed him and almost hit like 5 people on my driver side. will definately NEVER streetrace again, still get nightmares

Thanks B. I spent all night teaching my buddy how to drive properly in winter too.... Good thing he was following and learned the final lesson. Be a jackass and pay for it. I dont even know what to say or think. Im just so disappointed in myself.

Well its like -40 today and icy as ****. I made a dumb choice and put the lude into a slide. ( this is so common around here) but the truth is you never know how a car will react. Especially not on ice. Everything was going great until one tire bit and everything was over. I was going 90 degrees into a snowbank. Smoked it at about 35-40km/h and finished the 180. My car was ontop of a 3 foot snowbank. And yes i HAND shovelled that **** out. Some ****ing birthday

Looks like only the bumper atleast. See if you can find a white one at the junk yard.

If its over $1000 which is unlikely i'll have to report it, where they will investigate.

They will look to charge me with undo care and attention, stunting, and probably racing. Even if its not true, they'll make it look so

Yeah man, don't be too rough on yourself, just be glad your okay and the extent of the damages is not huge. Search around in your areas for people on forums who are possibility parting out their cars, or like others have said, the car yard.

re: Realizing how fast it all goes

it shouldnt cost you 800 dollars for a bumper and turn signal should it?

well look at the bright side, you could replace it for a moogen bumper and get new tinted turn signals and jdm foggies.. now that should cost you ~800

Fixed^ lol

Damn that sucks man. Its never fun when your car is hurt. But its even less fun when others are with you. Like everyone has said, at least you and your friends are ok.

Hope everything can work out for you man.

Sucks to hear and it sucks to say but the only way people will learn is by learning the hardway yourself. We can see as many of these threads as possible but unless it happens to yourself it'll never have the same affect.

But at least it's only cosmetic damage and no one got hurt!!

damn man, thats a depressing picture. i'd say if no one else was involved don't report it cause you're going to have to pay either way. i definately hope you learned your lesson, and ice is definately not fun on the road no matter what.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. At the time i was by myself, but not % minutes before my buddy was with me. I had been teaching how to winter drive all night since he just got his license. I guess my final lesson should have a good impact on him. Lets hope he learns as much as i did.

Some birthday.... Def wont forget about this one

I would love to just say I lost control, but working at a body shop I can not lie about it, nor will my parents stand for it. If it comes to that i"ll simply have to pony up and take it as it is. I really doubt anything will happen unless

1) the damage exceeds which i can tell right now it wont
2) the people around reported it. Which in that case a officer shoudl have showed up already

Dude what do you mean your parents wont stand for it? Dont they understand that it will help you to just say you lost control? It isnt their decision to make. You could probably find a cheap white bumper in less than a week. Get that fixed ASAP man! Forget about it and get your car back on the road! And btw you should have NO trouble staying out of trouble on this one. When I first got my 240 back in HS I tried to show off leaving the parking lot and ended up inside a huge median turned 180 degress. A cop showed up and I told him a drunk ran me off the road. I totally avoided any type of trouble. Yours is about 500x less intense then mine. Sack up and get a new bumper and post some pics of a nice clean white lude!

I mean they hold the title and wont let me lie about it. Im not to worried about fixing it asap. Last night was the first time ive driven it in months. It was my last driev before I traillered it to a friends heated garage for the winter. I have a jeep i drive for the winter, so as much as it sucks the lude will be sititng till summer :(

Damn bro why would your rents have your title? That doesnt make sense to me, my name has been the only name on my titles since I was 15, but my parents have never paid for one of my cars. And my parents would fully support lying if i helped me get out of a sticky situation. But its good to hear you have a second car so your lude can avoid snow. But still you should still fix it ASAP so your Lude will be ready as soon as spring comes! Also this should be a good forwarning as to why you need to move out after your senior year! My Lude is white as well and it hurts to see such a beautiful car hurt.

Haha man I really dont think you would turn down the offer i got. They hold the title until I get a degree. Yes they have power over me, but in return I get:

- a Free 2001 lude with 47***kilometers on it
- free gas
- free insurance
- free repairs
- free tires

So in the mean time I can suck it up. It may be a PITA that they own it, but rarely do they take it away from me. Im a good kid, just made a dumb mistake. I didnt have my dad around alot as a kid and I HATED it, but now that ive grown ive realized alot about life.

I'll take the lude down to my shop monday morning and let Larry look at ti for me. I know what needs to be done, but he needs to book me off some shop time on weekends that I can do the work myself.

On a positive note you guys are in for some surpises. Ive been long awaiting body work, and I guess this is just all the more reason to go for it all at once while im not driving it.

Re: Realizing how fast it all goes

got some surprises for us? I guess it might be a mixed blessing then haha

and 2001_ludeVTEC, it's not always a good idea to move out after senior year. I've been out of school for 3 years, I live at my parents house rent free. only bills I have are my car, phone, and insurance.
