to tint moon roof or not to tint moon roof..

I am planning on redoing all the tint in my lude (since the guy before me had all mismatched tint). My dilemma is, should I tint the moon roof, or leave it untinted? I like to let a lot of light into the car with it but Im not sure if itll look good or not.

Any opinions, pictures?

Thanks
Brad

Don't worry about tinting it. Not a lot of people do and no one is going to notice.

If it doesn't come tinted don't bother tinting it, no one will notice... and if the suns too bright close the shade

They're already tinted, plus I heard that tinting the sun roof will risk it cracking cause of the sun beaming on it so much. Don't know how true it is since I've never seen it happen

It is very true. I was following a friend of mine one day, well he had his tinted for about 5 months, and it was about 102. As soon as he closed his roof, as soon as it stopped, he opened his door and it shattered. Luck for him, the tint held it together, and saved him lots of glass mess.

Re: to tint moon roof or not to tint moon roof..

ok, everyone's answer is complete opposite from mine. when I had my sunroof done on my GP, I never turned back. I love 3% on my sunroof, wouldn't have any other sunroof/moonroof/ t-tops without 3%. my opnion, it's great.

Re: to tint moon roof or not to tint moon roof..

There is NO reason not to...I would not, but it really comes down to personal preference! I had 5% on the back three windows and 35% on the front two! I have not done this on my Prelude YET, but had that set-up on my old Accords and loved it.

The reasoning behind the 35% on the front two is it allows you to argue with the police that they CAN see the driver and passenger, complying with local laws...always leave yourself a way out...hehe! Granted most places say front tint is illegal, most have in the fine print of code that as long as drivers face can be seen it complies.

hmmm. well I have 3% on sunroof and front windscreen. everything else is 35% which is NC's limit. Completely legal.

also the sun bothered me when I would only crack my sunroof open, other than that, I hit the button again and it slides all the way open :)

not sure if 5 gen ludes go all the way back, if they don't, that sucks...

I have a Dodge Caliber SRT4 and it came with the moonroof tinted, I think it was a nice touch. Was thinking about doing it on my 'Lude. Still only you and your passenger will know!
