Running lean

I'm going to try and make this short and to the point. My car has been running lean for months now. When I took the car in for inspection, I had it smoke tested....I was told, I don't know if this is true, but the intake manifold was letting smoke out where it meets the block..so I ending up replacing both bypass valve gaskets and the intake manifold gasket (WHAT A BITCH!?!?!?)..of course the check engine comes back on...I did not change the fuel filter yet...maybe that's it? I don't know..

Honestly I really would like to hear your suggestions...the car runs and idles normal, it just has a check engine light....I'm pretty sure I did a good job of bolting the manifold within spec...I checked the vacuum lines, and my mechanic told me he only saw smoke coming out of the IM....so could it be a timing issue?? Oh yeah, I did recently change the primary o2 sensor. I'm all out of ideas....

Re: Running lean

Whats up buddy ? i read problem what is the check engine code ,you said that the o2 sensor was changed ,was it the rear or the front sensor. The front #1 is a fuel meter sensor and#2 is the rear one that's under the car is the oxygen sensor .you have to give more information .

Re: Running lean

It was the rear sensor I believe....The one right before the cat and under the car, but I thought the one after the cat was considered the rear o2?? I'm confused haha...I did also change the plugs and wires recently, also I believe the actually code was PO174...I might be wrong its been awhile since I've checked. I remember t just saying on the auto zone slip system lean..
