H1 bulbs

Ok, so im wondering if my stock headlights can handle a H1 bulb, and how many watts can it handle? My lude is 99, all stock.

Also i remember a guy told me that the superstars are good, but its 100watts, can my car take it?

heres the link.

Re: H1 bulbs

The stock headlight is H1 bulb, and i guess 100watt should be fine. The "superstar" looks like "made in china," and the china bulb is never last long--trust me. However, i recommend you to use Nokya bulb which is use 80watt and last pretty long. Re: H1 bulbs

I have superstar bulbs in mine. Twice actually. Im on my second set. The first one lasted about 10 months? I mean, for like 20 dollars, im happy with that result

Re: H1 bulbs

The headligt won't neccessarily explode, but since the wiring was only designed for a 55w globe, the extra current draw will cause the wiring to heat up. And that might cause an explosion.

Re: H1 bulbs

Or melt the insulation off the wires and fuse those wires to others creating a electrical rats nest of melted wires and a huge mess. If you want a good H1 bulb get the SilverStars, or like I saw someone said do a retro kit and go HID. Why try to do something cheaply if the end result you want is that of what the HIDs do. Just go ahead and save up and do a retro swap out fairly cheap and you will be very satisfied, so I hear I still hasvn't done mine.
